I don’t know exactly which zip codes are available but. I live in a city of about 500,000 and I received a GV# with my local area code.

@RudyOD Actually, i find it very pleasent to have one company control everything, as long as they aren’t out for your money. As long as google continues to provide fantastic free services, I will continue to use them. PS I have a Droid.

Google and Skype should get together, especially for international calls. Give those telephone giants a run for their money. Just as long as Google doesn’t buy out Skype. I like the ideas of companies working together to give better services, but not when one company controls everything, such as Google is in the process of doing. Hopefully, the other companies get the picture and just become more competitive.

Thanks for your explanation, Anphib.
Now, waiting is all I can do.

I found this disappointing as well, but considering the amount of red tape Google is most likely experiencing with offering this service in the US it’s not surprising they are first testing it there. Keep in mind too that this service is pissing off the cell phone giants big time and might even bring about some law suits, so the fewer the countries it’s in the fewer pissed off ceo’s and fewer possible lawsuits.

Please, make it available all over the globe, not only in U.S..

Dec 1, 2009 at 15:52:02
yea true that! and it works for the iPod Touch why use money on the iPhone when you can just buy an iPod Touch and jailbreak it and then call people through google voice mobile?
Dec 1, 2009 at 15:52:02
although apple has banned this app on the appstore i managed to get it on my iphone 3g. If you have a jailbroken iphone then you can download it on cydia.
