google sketchup tutorial – how to create a simple robot

    Doesn’t matter what template its in. SU will do what he’s showing you. He’s using tools not measurements. Point is, draw the shapes using the tools Andre’s showing you and try it out
    He’s using the arc tool to draw shapes, selecting them, then scaling them holding the alt key or he uses a pc so maybe the option key to do a uniform scale…he copies the whole finished part, flips it then turns the result into a component and possibly a group too in order to move separate parts easily…MtD

    Im not sure i got what ure saying, do you mean that you use sketchy physics to scale properly? or do you mean, that if you would get sketchy physics ure model would fall apart?

    Well i got basic, and there is no way that i can use the scale tool that good, my scale tool pulls in with diffrent scales on each sides

    you can. e.g. with sketchy physics. but the whole project has to be more detailed than. right now the parts wouldn work. if you turn on the physics the robot just falls into its parts.
